AppleTV4K bundelt haast eindeloze entertainment-opties in één device voor je woonkamer – zoals films, series, muziek, games, fitness en nu ook videogesprekken
Dankzij tvOS17 is FaceTime nu voor het eerst beschikbaar op AppleTV4K. Voortaan kun je dus gewoon via je tv contact houden met familie en vrienden.

Met tvOS 17 komt FaceTime naar Apple TV 4K, zodat gebruikers — voor het eerst ooit — kunnen genieten van de populaire app op hun tv om nog beter in contact te blijven met familie en vrienden. tvOS17 bevat ook een nieuw bedieningspaneel en andere verbeteringen waarmee je de software nog meer aan jouw wensen aanpast en kunt gebruiken in combinatie met iPhone. AppleTV4K bundelt niet alleen AppleTV+ en de populairste streaming-apps van andere aanbieders op het grootste scherm in huis, maar ook AppleMusic, AppleFitness+ en AppleArcade. En dat bovendien met een haast filmische beeld- en geluidskwaliteit. Met de krachtige prestaties van de A15 Bionic-chip, intuïtieve bediening en naadloze interactie met Apple-apparaten en slimme woonaccessoires, is Apple TV 4K het beste huiskamerapparaat. tvOS17 is vanaf vandaag beschikbaar als bètaversie voor ontwikkelaars en kan in het najaar als gratis software-update worden gedownload.

Vanaf dit najaar kunnen Apple TV 4K-gebruikers gebruikmaken van de nieuwe FaceTime-app op Apple TV en rechtstreeks vanaf Apple TV bellen, of oproepen starten op iPhone of iPad en ze overdragen aan Apple TV. FaceTime op AppleTV maakt gebruik van de ondersteuning voor Continuïteitscamera om draadloos verbinding te maken met je iPhone of iPad. Via de camera en microfoon op je device komt alles vervolgens samen op je tv.
Vanaf dit najaar kun je met de nieuwe FaceTime-app op AppleTV4K rechtstreeks vanaf je tv een gesprek starten. Of begin een gesprek op je iPhone of iPad en schakel het vervolgens door naar AppleTV.
Middelpunt zorgt dat iedereen in de kamer perfect in beeld blijft, zelfs wanneer deelnemers rondlopen. Verder kun je met nieuwe, door gebaren geactiveerde reacties elk gesprek nog leuker maken door effecten op het scherm te genereren, zoals hartjes of vuurwerk. En met de introductie van Split View voor AppleTV kun je in een SharePlay-sessie samen met je dierbaren een film of serie volgen, en tegelijkertijd iedereen zien in het FaceTime-gesprek.
Met regelaars op iPhone of iPad kun je een FaceTime-gesprek zo nodig makkelijk doorschakelen naar deze devices. Als er tijdens je sessie een ander FaceTime-gesprek of telefoontje binnenkomt, zie je een melding op de tv – zonder te onthullen wie de beller is, zodat je privacy gewaarborgd blijft wanneer je een gemeenschappelijk device gebruikt.
Later dit jaar kun je ook apps als Webex by Cisco en Zoom verwachten op tvOS, zodat je op AppleTV4K alle bijbehorende functies voor videovergaderingen kunt gebruiken. Ben je ontwikkelaar? Integreer dan je iPhone- of iPad-camera en -microfoon met behulp van de API’s voor Continuïteitscamera op AppleTV4K in je tvOS-app, en maak zo een nieuwe gedeelde en enerverende entertainment-ervaring voor de woonkamer.
Continuïteitscamera wordt ook geïntegreerd in Apple Music Sing, een feature die je laat meezingen met je favoriete nummers. Hierdoor kun je jezelf voortaan terugzien op het scherm en grappige filters toevoegen.
Met tvOS17 kunnen gebruikers van AppleTV4K (3egeneratie) meezingen met hun favoriete nummers, zoals ‘Lunch’ van Jeff Melvin en Maude Latour, zichzelf terugzien op het scherm en grappige filters toevoegen.

Met de komst van tvOS17 wordt de naadloze integratie van AppleTV en iPhone uitgebreid met de mogelijkheid om de Siri Remote te vinden. Vanuit het bedieningspaneel op je iPhone kun je de afstandsbediening voor AppleTV starten en daarmee je SiriRemote (2egeneratie of nieuwer) opsporen. Wanneer je de afstandsbediening nadert, zie je een cirkel op het scherm groter worden om aan te geven dat je warm bent.
Op je iPhone kun je vanuit het bedieningspaneel de afstandsbediening voor AppleTV starten en daarmee je SiriRemote (2egeneratie of nieuwer) opsporen.
Als je de afstandsbediening op je iPhone gebruikt om AppleTV in te schakelen en te bedienen, activeer je bovendien automatisch het juiste profiel. Zo weet je zeker dat je toegang krijgt tot jouw recentelijk bekeken series en persoonlijke aanbevelingen. Voor elk gebruikersprofiel worden nu extra instellingen en voorkeuren opgeslagen, zoals je systeemtaal en gekoppelde AirPods. Kortom, je geniet van een nog persoonlijkere ervaring.
Dankzij verbeteringen aan de screensavers wordt AppleTV nog aantrekkelijker en persoonlijker. Je kunt nu namelijk Herinneringen uit je persoonlijke bibliotheek, gedeelde bibliotheek of allebei laten verschijnen op het grote scherm. De immens populaire bovenaanzichten worden uitgebreid met allerlei adembenemende nieuwe locaties, zoals Monument Valley in Arizona en de sequoia’s langs de Californische kust.

Andere features die je kunt verwachten in tvOS17 zijn onder meer:

- Ondersteuning van VPN’s van andere aanbieders, zodat ontwikkelaars VPN-apps voor AppleTV kunnen maken. Dit kan handig zijn als je in het bedrijfsleven of het onderwijs toegang wilt tot content op je afgeschermde netwerk. AppleTV ontpopt zich zodoende tot een uitstekende oplossing voor nog meer kantooromgevingen en vergaderruimten.
